If you have an idea for a project that can help educate people about the hazards of tobacco use and/or reduce tobacco use in your home, school, community or organization please contact us. There may be varied opportunities for partnerships, be it a little cash, research, promotional items, partner building etc. and we are here to help you to the best of our ability. Obviously funds are still limited but we certainly will try to work together to make any program a success!

Western School District – Radio Ad Contest for Grades 5-12
Burgeo Academy – Butt Free Day school event.
Aboriginal Sport Circle – You Go Girl program for 9-12 year old girls.
Western Health – Kick Out Cessation Program for young adults/youth.
Tobacco Free Network and Western School District – Butt Out Radio Contest
CTAC – Survey of 18-24 year olds.
Federation of School Councils – One information session on Kim Welsh’s Peer Support Program at Ascension Collegiate during their AGM.
Fogo Island Family Resource Center – “No Puff – No Way”. The FIFRC will be holding information sessions in conjunction with the public health nurse. at these sessions, children will be introduced to the benefits of choosing to be a non-smoker. Parents will also be provided with statistics and information regarding smoking.
EA Butler All Grade School and Belanger Memorial School – “Smoke Free School”. Launch of a giant thermometer to display the percentage of smokers and non-smokers in the school. A survey to determine smoking at home and and evening for parents and students to introduce activities from Kick the Nic. Formal launch of Kick the Nic at the two schools in conjuction with the Tobacco Free Network in Western.
Vista Family Resource Center, Bonavista. – “Youth to Youth”. Development of resources including a skit/drama production which will reach young children. Information package to all parents. Training for youth aged 12-18 to bring the smoke free message to the younger children.
Tobacco Free Network – “Facilitator Training, You Can Stop by Starting with Us”. Recruiting participants and training up to 40 facilitators to deliver the “You Can Stop by Starting With Us” group support program. Offers cessation program support to the first 20 programs that are initiated by the new facilitatirs.
Labrador Metis Nation – “The Amazing Race – Tobacco Style”. Open to youth from Cartwright to Lanse Au Clare. Participants will have to combine fitness, endurance, knowledge and teamwork in order to be successful. It is anticipated that there will be at least 50 participants who will learn tobacco facts as they have fun.
Nunatsiavut Government – “Quit to Win Pilot Project”. Sign on to quit smoking for a minimum of 6 weeks for the chance to win a great prize.
Central Tobacco Awareness Coalition – “Grade 5 drama contest” Based on the theme of “choose to be tobacco free”, The winning drama will be distributed to schools, health clinics and family resource centers.
